Nicotine (CAS. No. 54-11-5) was purchased from Sigma–Aldrich Co., Ltd.(St. Louis, MO, USA). Safranin O (CAS. No. 477-73-6) and fast green (CAS. No. 2353-45-9) were obtained from Hengyuan Biotech Co., Ltd. (Shanghai, China). Isoflurane was purchased from Baxter Healthcare Co. (Deerfield, IL, USA). Rat corticosterone (CORT)ELISA kits were obtained from R&D Systems, Inc. (Minneapolis,MN, USA). Rat IGF1 ELISA kits were purchased from RD Systems,Inc. (Minneapolis, MN, USA). Total cholesterol (TCH), low-density lipoproteincholesterol(LDL-C) andhigh-density lipoproteincholesterol (HDL-C) assay kits were purchased from Sangon Biotech Co.,Ltd. (Shanghai, China). Tissue TCH assay kits were purchased from Applygen Tech, Inc. (Beijing, China). Reverse transcription ａnd quantitative PCR (Q-PCR) kits were purchased from Takara Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (Dalian, China). DAB staining kits were obtained from GeneTech Company, Ltd. (Shanghai, China). GeXP multiplex gene expression analysis kits were purchased from BeckmanCoulter Inc. (Fullerton, CA, USA). The oligonucleotide primers for rat Q-PCR genes (PAGE purification) ａnd GeXP multiplex gene expression analysis (HPLC purification) were synthesized by Sangon Biotech Co., Ltd.(Shanghai, China). Polyclonal antibodies for the 1 chain of type II collagen gene (Col2A1), IGF1, PPAR, LXR ａnd ABCA1were obtained from SantaCruz Biotechnology, Inc. (Santa Cruz, CA, USA). Other chemicals ａnd agents were of analytical grade.
